Lessons are with Archie Dyer, the founder of Cognivia Tutoring. Archie is a second-year Theoretical Physics student at UCL who achieved a First in his first year, scored 43 out of 45 in the IB with 7s in HL Maths, Physics and Economics, and has been tutoring for over 2 years.

Lessons are 1 hour, 1:1, on Google Meet. Your Google Meet link is in your booking confirmation email, so you just click to join. Times are shown in your own time zone when you book.

In-person lessons take place around Marylebone, London, and cost £10 more per lesson than online: £55 for IB, A-Level, TMUA and ESAT, or £50 for IGCSE and GCSE. The exact meeting place is agreed by email after you book.

Online lessons are £45 an hour for IB, A-Level, TMUA and ESAT, and £40 an hour for IGCSE and GCSE. In-person lessons around Marylebone cost £10 more: £55 and £50. A 5-pack of five 1-hour lessons saves £15: £210 or £185 online, £260 or £235 in person. The 30-minute trial is free.

A 5-pack is five 1-hour lessons with £15 off: £210 online or £260 in person for IB, A-Level, TMUA and ESAT, and £185 online or £235 in person for IGCSE and GCSE. After buying, your 5 lessons are added to your My lessons account. Log in with your email and a 6-digit code we email you (no password needed), then book each lesson whenever suits and see how many lessons you have left.

Payment is taken upfront when you book, securely through Stripe. You can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Contact Archie by email or phone at least 24 hours before your lesson for a refund or credit. Less than 24 hours’ notice or a no-show is charged in full. If Archie has to cancel, you can reschedule or get a full refund. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 working days. See the refund policy for details.

IB is the International Baccalaureate Diploma, where each subject is studied at Standard Level (SL) or Higher Level (HL). TMUA (Test of Mathematics for University Admission) and ESAT (Engineering and Science Admissions Test) are university admissions tests used for competitive maths, science, engineering and economics courses.

No. All lessons are 1:1 and last 1 hour, so every lesson is built around one student.

Yes. Online lessons run on Google Meet, and the booking calendar shows times in your own time zone. Students join from the UK and across Europe.

Either is fine. The booking form asks who is booking, so parents can book for their child and students can book for themselves.

You receive detailed written comments within 5 days. For up to 750 words (£50) it is written feedback only. For up to 1,500 words (£100) or up to 3,000 words (£200), a 30-minute call to go through the comments is also included. It’s guidance only: Archie never writes any part of the work.

No. Cognivia Tutoring is one tutor: Archie Dyer, who founded it and teaches every lesson himself. There is no panel of tutors, so a student always has the same tutor.

Yes. Archie tutors A-Level Maths and A-Level Further Maths, as well as A-Level Physics and Economics. Lessons follow the student’s own exam board and, for Further Maths, the optional modules their school has chosen.

Yes. Archie tutors both Analysis and Approaches (AA) and Applications and Interpretation (AI), at Standard Level and Higher Level, for the same price. He scored a 7 in IB Higher Level Maths.

Yes. Archie has experience preparing applicants for Oxford and Cambridge interviews in mathematics- and physics-based subjects. A one-hour lesson can be used as interview practice, working through an unfamiliar problem aloud with feedback afterwards, at the same price as any other lesson.

Yes. Archie sat both the TMUA and the ESAT as a university applicant, and now tutors both. He is a second-year Theoretical Physics student at UCL.
